Writer Georges Hyvernaud returns to us, here and now, in 2014, for the length of a film in which he is both the eyes and the protagonist. ‘What a strange idea, making a film about me’ he might think he whose works, in his lifetime, were met with rejection or worse, silence. This film explores his world, drawing on his two major works, La Peau et les os (Skin and Bones) and Lettre à une petite fille (Letter to a Little Girl), rooted in a particular reality and era, yet gradually taking on a strikingly contemporary resonance.
