Memory Lane is a documentary series that captures live performances from the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of iconic artists. Those shows are used to pinpoint the evolution of an artist and provide a reference for a discussion of what went before and after. The songs represent both their lives and their work and create the framework for a mini biopic.
The concerts in this series, are the central point from which we swing out and delve into the careers, life, love and losses of the artists who grace the famed Swiss stage, as we explore what went before and what came after each performance.
These short biopics born out of the vaults of Montreux Jazz Festival are an exploration into the life blood of the music industry. Each episode of 60 minutes is built around a live concert performance by an established, global artist. The concert footage is edited down to 48’ with the balance of the content being historical footage and photography sourced from Getty’s world-renowned archives.
