Lens, in northern France. Chaylla, 23, is trying to break free from an abusive relationship. She is ready to fight for custody of her children, to have what she endured legally recognized. Yet deep inside, she still clings to the hope of rebuilding a family with her ex-partner. Between legal battles and an intimate struggle, Chaylla tells the story of four years in the life of a young woman whose attempts at emancipation and powerful desire for justice collide with the mechanisms of control and dependency.
