Ten years after directing Voir ce que devient l’ombre, a portrait of the artist couple Fred Deux and Cécile Reims, Matthieu Chatellier returns to the Berry region to spend a few days with Cécile. Since the death of her companion, the artist has been living alone and no longer works. She welcomes the filmmaker and, for the last time, recounts her journey through the 20th century. Alongside this visit, Matthieu revisits the footage shot ten years earlier and accompanies two friends passionate about Fred Deux’s work in their attempt to unravel the secret of “the uncle”…
