In a remote countryside, Marcel, an elderly retired farmer, continues to tend his land and his sheep. One summer morning, struck by a stroke, he collapses, and his flock escapes while a dreamlike vision appears to him. After returning from the hospital, Marcel finds that only one sheep remains in his now-empty field. Despite his weakened body and his wife Madeleine’s worries, the old man will do everything he can to rebuild his flock.
